KULL 4 / LITTER 4

 Fabel kommer från vår tredje kull och är en av sex syskon efter Naatti och Mika. Hela kullen är är friröntgad både på höfter och armbågar (alla A och 0), per dags datum är alla friska och hela kullen har utvisat mycket goda arbetsegenskaper med fina resultat inom både jakt (bla. Juniortollarmästare 2017), viltspår (fem av sex i kullen viltspårchampion), reddningshund och rally. Hela kullen gjorde BPH i maj 2017 och jag är mycket nöjd med jämnheten, de är lekfulla och sociala, har matintresse och attityd utan extremer. En i kullen är skottberörd.  Fabel har varit hos oss för kortare och längre perioder vid många tillfällen och vi har även fått ta del i att träna och tävla henne, så vi känner henne väl.

Fabel själv är ett litet lyckopiller som är väldigt social, otroligt glad i folk och är trevlig mot andra hundar oavsett kön. Arbetsmässigt, liksom självklart hälsomässigt och mentalt, lever hon upp till förväntningarna vi har på en avelshund hos Inlicio. Hon har en fantastisk näsa och har utan större svårigheter tagit både norskt och svenskt viltspårchampionat. Hon hör till de tystare hundarna, även om det kan komma något pip under jaktträningen. Hon är följsam och vill verkligen jobba, men har också en självständighet som kan sätta in när hon menar det är lämpligt. Hon är bra med vilt men har ett lite slarvigt grepp och behöver mer erfarenhet i att bära. Hon är skottfast, trygg i vatten och en duktig simmare. Hon är lätt att belöna med både godbit och lek och hon har gjort ett trevligt BPH (mentalbeskrivning). Exteriört är hon en välbalanserad tik av den mindre modellen. Hon har mycket päls av god kvalitet, goda rörelser och ett vackert huvud.

Fabel comes from our third litter and is one of six siblings after Naatti and Mika. The whole litter has been x-rayed to Excellent on both hips and elbows, all have until now been healthy and all show excellent working abilities with some very nice results withing hunting (Swedish Junior Tollermaster 2017), game-tracking (five of six are champions), search and rescue work (SAR) and rally obedience. The whole litter did a mental description in May 2017 and I am very pleased with the result and the eveness within the litter, they are playfull and social, has interest in food and attitude withouth any extremes. One of the siblings is gunshy. Fabel has stayed with us for longer and shorter periods on many occations and we have also participated in her training and has competed with her, so we know her well.

Fabel is a happy-go-lucky girl that is very social, she loves humans and does not have any problems with other dogs, regardless of gender. Workwise, as well as health and mentality of course, she lives up to the expectations we have on breeding stock at kennel Inlicio. She has a fantastic nose and easily gained the  norwegian and swedish game-tracking championships. She is one of the more quiet tollers, even though there might be an occational noice during hunt training. She really loves to work and follows her handler with joy, but she also has an independence that comes into play if she finds it suitable. She is good with game, but has a sloppy grip and needs more experience in carrying. She is safe to gun shots, confident in water and a good swimmer. She is easily rewarded with both food and play and she did a really nice mental description. Exteriorly she is a well balanced female of the smaller modell . She has a lot of coat of good quality, effortless movements and a beautiful head.  

Trapper is owned by Randy Harrold and Wendy Shumway and he came to Randy to be his hunting dog with no intention of competitions or tests. But the qualities of Trapper soon became apparent and after some prodding from his breeder Betty King, it was decided to try some confirmation. Long story short, shown by Wendy, Trapper is now AKC Silver Grand Champion, has a placement in the 2014 Eukanuba National Championship and have multiple group placements to his merit. Wendy has also run Trapper in Rally where he earned an invitation to the national championships, obedience, his canine good citizen and a versatility certificate.

Randy had only trained dogs for hunting and not the hunting tests that are run in the US when he got Trapper and he had little to no interest to do so, hunting was enough. But Betty and Dave King talked Randy into giving it a try. They failed their first test because Trapper didn’t bring the bird close enough and Randy realized that he would have to be trained to bring the bird to hand. Trapper’s hunt test training started at the age of 2 and after that initial fail they went on to 12 straight passes without a fail and this last summer got the Senior Hunter title. Trapper has been trained only by Randy the whole way. Next year they will run in the Masters.

Randy says: “As far as hunting goes it needs to be said that there is much more to Trapper than hunting titles can say. Every year around the first of October I get calls from friends and acquaintances all wanting to know if they can come out and hunt with Trapper. Trapper is the best dog I have ever hunted over. He is smart, knows where to look for upland game birds, but, most importantly, he uses his nose like no other dog I have seen. When hunting waterfowl he is silent, stays in one place and watches the sky. When it comes to marking birds, it’s not unusual for him to mark a wounded bird out to 350 to 400 m and make the retrieve.

Trapper has been a dream dog of a lifetime. He has excelled in the U.S. Hunt Test while taking top honors in the show ring as well as other titles that show his versatility. Trapper is all clear for the Toller health test available. He is a thinking Toller and is very smart and confident. He is very quiet in performance and depends on his nose. He is a very strong swimmer, loves the sound of gun fire and is hunted regularly, he loves to work. He is very biddable and easy to train, takes pressure well and always has drive to hunt, train and please. At home, he’s calm and easy to live with. He loves other animals and people, especially kids. Although very friendly he still maintains his independence.

Trapper has had two jobs for me. 1. Being my best friend and 2. Being my hunting partner.”

Trapper currently has six litters on the ground (27 puppies). One of the litters was born here in Norway in October 2016 at kennel Redrival and Elisabeth Løhre. I’ve had the privilege to follow this litter all the way from insemination up until now and I really like what I see in them. This has further strengthened my belief that Trapper is an excellent match for Fabel. 🙂
